The FA Cup Third Round is often looked forward to by all fans involved and this set of fixtures seems to have thrown up some interesting fixtures and some strong bets.

It is often the giant killings that people want to bet on in the FA Cup but the best bet of the entire fixture list should come in the game that invovlves the two best teams in England this season, Man City and Man Utd. The rivals sit first and second respectively in the Premiership and Man Utd will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the 6-1 loss at Old Trafford earlier in the season. Unfortunately for United, City have won all their home games this season in the league whilst Man Utd have lost their last two games and conceded six goals in the process. United look there for the taking and 23/20 on Man City should be a very nice wager.

Another local rivalry sees Birmingham host Wolves, a game which has often been a Championship fixture and a Premiership fixture but this time it is an FA Cup fixture between teams in different divisions. This is often a very tight fixture, four of the last seven league meetings at St Andrews have ended in draws and it is interesting to note that Birmingham are unbeaten at home this season in the Championship. One rung higher Wolves have the joint worst away record in the Premiership and the draw could be a very likely result here at 23/10.

At shorter odds Fulham look worth backing at home to Charlton at 4/9. Fulham have a good home record with four wins, three draws and three losses at home and two of those losses were against Man Utd and Spurs. Charlton are doing well, albeit at League One level, they are top of the league but only seventh in the form table and against a much better outfit the home side are worth supporting here.

One away team worth having a bet on this week should be Bolton. They may be in the relegation zone currently but they face Macclesfield who are in the bottom half of League Two. Some will see this as a potential giant killing but Bolton reached the semi final of the FA Cup last season so they take this seriously and with Bolton winning four out of ten away matches in the Premiership they should be able to go to Macclesfield and progress at 8/11.
